The Symes
Event Space
This project transformed a portion of the historic 1938 Symes Road waste transfer station into a modern commercial event venue while preserving the character and integrity of the original building.
The scope included selective interior demolition, heritage preservation, tenant fit-out work for event spaces, offices, bars, and kitchen facilities, as well as floor reconfiguration with new structural elements. The project also involved the installation of new mechanical and electrical systems, a new elevator and shaft, and the creation of accessible public corridors and washrooms.
By combining careful restoration with modern construction, the redevelopment breathed new life into a landmark property, creating a functional, welcoming destination while respecting its architectural heritage.
